This is really good with thick crusty Italian bread or garlic cheese sticks recipe follows for the breadsticks... Ingredients:
8-10 med vine-ripened tomatoes |
2c. heavy cream |
1 can tomato paste (italian flavor) |
1/2 stick butter |
1c. vegetable broth |
1 tsp. fresh each of basil,thyme, sage, and oregano and 1tsp garlic powder |
1/2c. parmesan cheese |
sliced thin italian sausage about 1 1/2 cups |
if desired, garnish with sprinkle of asiago cheese |
Directions:
1. Puree tomatoes, cream and broth add this to amed. sized stockpot (or large dutch oven) 2. Add the other ingrdients and simmer for about 1/2 hour 3. See Also my recipe for garlic cheese sticks |
