1 lb ground beef |
1/2 cup chopped onion |
1 tablespoon shortening |
2 cups hot water |
1 (16 ounce) tomatoes |
1/4 cup heinz 57 steak sauce |
2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1 dash pepper |
1 cup macaroni |
parsley |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef and onions in shortening in a skillet. Drain off excess fat. Stir in hot water, tomatoes, 57 sauce, salt, sugar, and pepper. Add macaroni; mix well. Bring mixture to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Simmer, uncovered, 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until macaroni is tender. Garnish with minced parsley. |
