Quick pickles that taste great and keep in the refrigerator
Ingredients:
1/2c white vinegar
2 rounded tsp sugar
1tsp. mustard seed
1tsp salt
1 clove cracked garlic
1tsp. dried dill or 2 tbs. fresh dill,chopped or snipped
1 bay leaf
4 kirby cucumbers,cut into 1' slices on an angle
Directions:
1. Heat small saucepan over med-high heat. Add vinegar,sugar mustard seed,salt and garlic to pan and cook until it begins to simmer and sugar dissolves. Toss the dill,bayleaf and sliced cucumbers together in a heat-proof bowl. Pour the simmering liquid over the cucumbers and stir to evenly coat.
2. Allow to cool to room temp. or chill before serving.
