Serve These Yummy Quick and Easy Biscuits Hot from the Oven with Butter & Honey or Homemade Fig or Strawberry Preserves/Jam. Been in My Family for Years and A True Keeper. If You Have Leftovers, These Are Great the Next Morning with Poached Eggs. Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour |
2 1/2 tsp. baking powder |
1/2 tsp. baking soda |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1 tbsp. sugar |
1/2 cup un-salted real butter |
3/4 cup buttermilk |
Directions:
1. Mix Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda, Salt and Sugar in A Mixing Bowl. 2. Cut In The Butter Until the Mixture Resembles Corse Crumbs. 3. With Fork, Stir in the Buttermilk to Make A Soft Dough. Turn Out Onto A Lightly Floured Board and Knead About 10 Times to Form A Smooth Ball. Do Not Over Knead or Biscuits Will Not Be Tender. 4. Roll Out to A 6-by-6 Inch Square. Place On A Ungreased Baking Sheet. With A knife, Cut Dough Into 12 Equal Portions. Do Not Separate; Leave Biscuits in a Square. 5. Bake at 400F Until Golden Brown, About 15 Minutes. Serve Immediately for Best Results. You May Put Into A Clothed Bread Basket for Serving As Well. |
