This is a nice dessert when you are having a fancy meal! You can make them any shape you like. Ingredients:
1 package frozen puff pastry dough |
2 packages vanilla instant pudding + milk to make |
1 bottle of a good chocolate fudge or chocolate drizzle |
3 oz of confectioners sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 400F. 2. Prepare instant pudding according to package directions. 3. While pudding is chilling, follow directions for thawing (if frozen),unfolding and baking puff pastry sheets. 4. Cut into desired shape (I do a rectangle) at bake at 400° for twelve minutes or until golden. 5. **Pay close attention to baking time, sheets burn easily. 6. Let cool to room temperature. 7. To assemble : 8. Place a layer of pastry on a large rectangular plate or pan.. 9. Gently spread with a layer of pudding, then another layer of pastry. Repeat the layering process until ingredients are used up. 10. Heat your chocolate fudge until it is at pouring consistency. 11. Pour or drizzle over the tops of your Napoleons, and dust very lightly with the confectioners sugar. 12. Use a serrated knife to cut these into bars for serving. 13. Keep refrigerated until serving time. 14. If you want to substitute a low fat, or zero fat pudding in this recipe, there is still enough sugar to give it flavor with half or no fat in the pudding. |
