QUICK FRENCH TOAST This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Campbell Estate in Terrell, Texas in 1991. Ingredients:
4 slices vienna bread slices |
vegetable oil spray |
1 cup skim milk |
3/4 cup egg substitute |
1 tablespoon sugar |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 dash salt |
2 teaspoon cinnamon sugar |
3 tablespoon maple syrup |
Directions:
1. Cut each bread slice diagonally into 4 triangles. 2. Arrange evenly in bottom of a medium nonstick skillet coated with cooking spray. 3. Combine milk and next 4 ingredients then stir well and pour over bread. 4. Cover and cook over medium heat 11 minutes or until mixture is set. 5. Remove from heat then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. 6. Cut into 3 wedges and drizzle 1 tablespoon syrup over each wedge. |
