I used a mixture of fresh blackberries, raspberries and blueberries for this, but I don't see why frozen or any combination of berries wouldn't work. I also used a sugar-free pancake syrup; if you're so inclined, you can use regular maple syrup. I've used this as a topping for pancakes and plain waffles, too. Ingredients:
1/4-1/3 cup pancake syrup |
1/2-3/4 cup berries |
Directions:
1. Combine the syrup and the berries in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 - 45 seconds. 2. Remove the bowl from the microwaves and mash the mixture slightly with a fork; it looks a lot prettier if you leave some of the berries whole! |
