So, I dabbled here & there, and this chili turned out awesome. And boy, did it have some zing to it. All 3 of my kids ate it up. Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef |
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder |
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes, crushed |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
2 tablespoons dried onion |
1 teaspoon seasoning salt |
1/2 instant minced garlic |
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin |
3/4 cup water |
1 (16 ounce) can chili beans, undrained (i had mexican style chili beans) |
1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce |
Directions:
1. In a large pot, brown ground beef. Drain & add back into the pot. 2. While the ground beef is cooking, add all the dried seasoning in a small mixing bowl. 3. Once the ground beef is browned, add the seasoning & water. Stir & bring to a gentle boil for up to 2 minutes. 4. Add chili beans & tomato sauce. 5. Stir & let simmer for 3-4 minutes. 6. Serve with shredded cheddar cheese & some cornbread or crackers. |
