In Ontario on the farm my family always made there own chili sauce , but when I first came to Newfoundland it was hard to get tomatoes, now its not but sometimes I,ll still make this quick and easy chili. Ingredients:
1 cup sugar |
1 (796 ml) can tomatoes |
1/2 cup vinegar |
2 large onions, chopped fine |
1 tablespoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 teaspoon clove |
Directions:
1. Mix all together and simmer 2 hours. 2. Be careful and stir and if need be add a little water so as not to burn. |
