QUICK BISCUITS DATED 1944 This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Parah Estate in Richardson, Texas in 1996. Ingredients:
2 cups all purpose flour |
3 teaspoons baking powder |
1 teaspoon salt |
2 teaspoons sugar |
1/3 cup cooking oil |
2/3 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Mix together flour, baking powder, salt and sugar. 2. In mixing cup combine cooking oil and milk then add all at once to flour mixture. 3. Stir just to clean sides. 4. Knead 10 times then roll out 1/2 thick and cut with a biscuit cutter. 5. Bake at 450 for 11 minutes. |
