I adopted this recipe from the zaar account in Feb/05. It looked like something I would like to make and enjoy eating. Ingredients:
2 (10 ) cans beef broth |
2 (2 ) cans red beets |
1 cup water |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
1 teaspoon sugar |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1 dash garlic powder |
salt |
1/2 cup red table wine |
Directions:
1. Dilute the broth using the juice from the red beets instead of water. 2. Put aside the beets for other uses. 3. Add 1 cup water. 4. Cook the borscht for 5 minutes. 5. Season. 6. Add wine. |
