This is an excellent recipe for biscuits. I learned it in school. My dad is a biscuit fan and both he and my mom love them. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
3 tsp. baking powder |
2 tbsp. shortening |
1 cup milk |
1/2 tsp. salt |
also, you will need a pastry blender |
Directions:
1. Oven to 450 degrees. 2. Sift the flour in a bowl. 3. Stir in the baking powder and salt. 4. Cut in the shortening with a pastry blender until the mixture looks like peas. 5. Make a well (kind of dig a hole in the center of the bowl till you can see the bottom) and stir in the milk with a fork. 6. The dough should be making a ball by now. Knead it three times (more if needed). 7. Press to one inch flat. Cut into biscuits. 8. Bake for ten minutes and enjoy!!! 9. I'll upload a photo next time I make them |
