Bacon and water chestnuts may not sound like they go together, but trust me, one taste and you'll know they do. Ingredients:
1 lb. bacon ( cut in half) |
2 cans whole water chestnuts |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup ketchup |
2 tablespoons soy sauce |
toothpicks |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 450 . 2. In a pan, lightly cook bacon, making sure it does not become crisp. 3. Wrap each water chestnut with half a slice of bacon. 4. Hold in place with a toothpick. 5. Place in baking dish in a single layer and bake for 10 minutes at 450 F. 6. Mix brown sugar, ketchup and soy sauce together. 7. Pour sauce mixture over cooked bacon and chestnuts. |
