Quick and Easy Beans With a Twist |

I had a craving for baked beans and didnt have any, so I made my own! Ingredients:
1/2 cup cannellini beans, cooked |
1/4 cup onion, diced |
1/4 cup fennel, diced |
2 tablespoons tomato basil pasta sauce |
1/4 cup water |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) |
1/2 serrano pepper, diced (optional) |
1 teaspoon lime juice (optional) |
1 tablespoon parsley (optional) |
Directions:
1. Saute the diced onions and the fennel in the olive oil until they take on a translucent appearance. Add the cooked beans and saute for a minute. Add the salt, pepper, garlic powder and serrano pepper if using.Add the pasta sauce and water and simmer until the sauce thickens to desired consistency. Remove from heat, serve hot garnished by the lime juice and parsley. |
