Puto-made Easy Steamed Muffins |

Puto is a native steamed rice muffins that every town have thier own varieties. Usually partnered with Dinuguan. Just giving it my own spin to make it more adoptable. Ingredients:
2 cups rice flour (use bisquick mix or pancake mix for more fluffiness & richness) |
2 pcs eggs, lightly beaten |
1 tsp salt |
1 cup sugar |
1 1/2 cup fresh milk |
1/2 tsp baking powder |
2 tbsp melted margarine |
cheese cut in strips |
freshly grated coconut |
for my stuffed steamed muffins, i use |
pork asado, cooked ground meatballs, cooked sausages, cornbeef, ham, fruit compotes, & fruit jams as fillings. |
Directions:
1. Blend ingredients thoroughly, whisk until smooth. Fill muffin pans 2/3 full with mixture. Put a strip or 2 of cheese on top. 2. Steam for 20 minutes or do the cake test.Serve with grated coconut on top. Serve. 3. For Stuffed Steamed Muffins: 4. Blend ingredients thoroughly, stir until smooth. 5. Fill muffin pans with 1/3 full of mixture. Put a spoonful of the fillings. Pour another batch of the mixture until it reaches 2/3 full. 6. Steam for 20 minutes. |
