THIS IS HOW I MAKE PUMPKIN PUREE FOR PIES. Ingredients:

large stock pot. |
ingredients |
fresh pumpkin (smaller is better, from your garden is better yet) |
water |
Directions:
1. Cut pumpkin into manageable sections. 2. Put into stockpot. 3. Cover with water. 4. Boil until pumpkin meat can be pierced easily with butterknife. 5. Drain and allow to cool. 6. Remove skin. 7. Puree. 8. Can be frozen in zipper bags. 9. Try this in my Houdini Pumpkin Praline Pie, IT IS EXCELLENT! |
