The classiic, traditional American Thanksgiving Pie. A truly woldclass dish. Ingredients:
2 cups cooked, mashed pumpkin |
1-1/2 cups brown sugar; packed firmly, no lumps |
1/4 pound softened butter |
3 eggs; beaten |
1 cup buttermilk |
1/2 cup molasses |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1-1/2 teaspoons colonial american pumpkin pie spice; see recipe |
2 9-inch pie crusts, unbaked |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. 2. Stir together the pumpkin, brown sugar and butter until well mixed. 3. Add other ingredients and mix thoroughly. 4. Pour half the filling into each of the crusts. 5. Bake for 1 hour at 350°F. 6. NOTE: Pies will test done when a knife can be inserted in the center of the cooked pie filling and come out clean. |
