This recipe was sent to my husband when he was in Viet Nam... another soldiers mom had sent her son some and my husband loved it so his mom sent the recipe to him,,,,,Ive made it for him ever since. Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour |
3 cups sugar |
2 teaspoons soda |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 teaspoon nutmeg |
1 can pumpkin |
4 eggs, well beaten |
1 cup cooking oil |
2/3 cup water |
2 teaspoons vanilla |
Directions:
1. In a large bowl sift first 6 ingredients together 2. add remaining igredients and stir well 3. You may also add nuts and raisins or coconut as they are optional 4. I add all of them to mine 5. Pour into greased and floured loaf pans or can use coffee cans 6. and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hours.. 7. If you coffee cans fill just a little more than half full |
