This is a pumpkin bread my Mom made when we would go camping. She used to bake it in used metal coffee cans and just put the lid on and stick it with our camping gear. Ingredients:
3 cups sugar |
1 cup vegetable oil |
3 1/2 cups flour, sifted |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
2/3 cup water |
2 cups pumpkin (1 can) |
4 eggs |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
2 cups raisins |
1 cup walnuts |
Directions:
1. Pre heat oven to 350 degrees. Dissolve sugar in liquids. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Pour into greased and sugared loaf pans. Bake for 1 hour. Let cool. |
