The recipe came from my grandmother's recipe book. Not sure where she obtained it. We love the recipe as it is simple and makes a very good, moist bread. Ingredients:
3 cups flour |
2 cups sugar |
2 teaspoons baking soda |
1 teaspoon ground cloves |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
2 cups cooked pumpkin (cooked, mashed or pureed from the can is fine) |
2/3 cup oil (vegetable oil is fine) |
3 eggs, beaten |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Mix all of the dry ingredients well. 3. In a seperate bowl, mix the rest of the ingredients. 4. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mix gently. 5. Divide batter equally into 2 well greased loaf pans. 6. Bake for 1 hour. |
