Puff Pastry Cheese Straws |

From Good Housekeeping Dec 2010. Easy, easy, easy. Prep time does not include thawing. Ingredients:
1 (17 1/4 ounce) box frozen puff pastry, thawed |
1 egg, beaten |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon cayenne |
2 ounces asiago cheese, grated |
2 ounces parmesan cheese, grated |
Directions:
1. Thaw puff pastry in fridge overnight or at room temp on paper towels. 2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line 15.5 x 10.5 jelly roll pans with parchment paper. 3. On lightly floured surface, roll each sheet to 12 x 15 . 4. Sprinkle salt and cayenne, then cheeses onto one sheet. 5. Top with second sheet and roll to 13 x 16 . 6. Cut into 32 1/2 x 13 strips. 7. Place in pans, 1 apart. Twist each strip several times. 8. Bake 18-20 minutes. 9. Cool. |
