This is a simple sauce that you pour over cake. (Turns a dry cake into a tasty treat.) Also works very well as a ice cream sauce.
Ingredients:
3 cups hot water
1 tablespoon butter
1 cup brown sugar, heaping
1/3 cup lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons cornstarch
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients in a saucepan and cook until thickened.
2. NOTES: You can substitute 1 tablespoon vinegar for the lemon juice.
3. I estimated the cooking time as it depends on how thick you like it.
