French Canadian comfort food; kind of like sticky toffee pudding. Posting so as not to lose it!! Cooking time includes 1 hour minimum chilling time. Ingredients:
2/3 cup butter |
1 cup sugar |
2 eggs |
2 1/3 cups all-purpose flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup dark brown sugar |
1 cup maple syrup |
2 cups heavy cream |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
Directions:
1. Beat butter and sugar together until light in color; add eggs and beat in one at a time. Sift together flour and baking powder and stir in until completely incorporated. Chill for at least 1 hour, and up to 24 hours. 2. Preheat oven to 450 degrees. 3. Combine remaining four ingredients in a saucepan over medium high heat and heat to just under a boil, or until sugar is completely melted. 4. Divide dough between six ramekins and fill each with the syrup liquid. Place ramekins on baking sheet and bake 20-25 minutes. Recipe can be doubled and baked in a 9x13 pan at 350 degrees for 35 minutes or until lightly browned. |
