I have to bring this to every party I go to. It just has a great combination of flavors. Its easy to make. The chopping of the ingredients is what takes time. I chop it all one day and put it together the next day. Ingredients:
3/4 to 1 pound of provolone (sliced thin) |
1- 7 ounce jar roasted red peppers |
2 (8 ounce pkgs) cream cheese, softened |
3 cloves garlic crushed |
1-7 ounce container pesto sauce |
1 can black olives( chopped very small) |
1 jar sundried tomatoes (chopped very small just enough for 1 layer) |
if i can only get them in oil i rinse them good and dry |
1 loaf french bread |
Directions:
1. You will need a loaf pan ( 9 1/2 x5x1/2) I use pyrex loaf pan, and Dampened cloth napkin. ( I use dampened cheesecloth) 2. Drain roasted peppers and pat them dry. Chop into small pieces 3. Drain & rinse sundried tomatoes. Dry and chop into small pieces 4. Drain Black olives and chop into small pieces 5. Once creamcheese has softened add the crushed garlic and mix well. 6. Pesto sauce should be stirred so it doesnt seperate while putting this together 7. Take damp cloth napkin (cheesecloth) and line the loaf pan, Making sure to push into corners as much as possible. 8. Lay the Provolone cheese on the bottom and up the sides overlapping pieces of cheese have some hanging over sides of pan. 9. Layering ( spread each layerout to the edges as much as possible) 10. Put in 1/3 of pesto sauce (thin layer) 11. Roasted red peppers 12. 1/2 of creamcheese 13. Thin layer of pesto 14. Black olives 15. Cream cheese 16. Sundried tomatoes 17. Remaining pesto 18. Cover with provolone, Fold over cheese from sides on top of that. 19. Wrap with the overlap of cheesecloth, Cover with plastic wrap & refrigerate overnite. 20. Turn out onto dish. Remove cheesecloth (It could be oily) And serve 21. I slice lengthwise down middle and then across. 22. Serve with bread slices. 23. I have made this in mini loaf pans, its more of a pain to make but looks good, and just slice across. |
