Prosciutto, Basil, Tomato and Lettuce BLT |

This sandwich is a delightful change from the traditional BLT. I found the original recipe in Cooking Light, but took some liberties in changing this recipe to suit my needs. Ingredients:
2 whole wheat bread, toasted |
1 teaspoon dijon mustard (or more to taste) |
1 teaspoon mayonnaise (or more to taste) |
3 -4 big basil leaves (or enough to cover the sandwich) |
2 slices prosciutto |
1 roma tomato, sliced thin |
2 slices provolone cheese |
sweet onion, slices of (optional) |
6 baby leaf lettuce |
garlic powder (a good sprinkle or to taste) |
Directions:
1. Have all the ingredients ready while the bread is being toasted. 2. Assemble the sandwich. 3. Bon appetit! |
