And, again, we tossed ideas around and I finally came up with this. Combining some basic Hawaiian Pizza flavors with the ease of a pizza bread yet. Read more . not. :) This also will be an entry in the Playful Pantry's NFL challenge. Ingredients:
1 1lb loaf italian bread, sliced in half, then each piece horizontally |
8oz cream cheese, softened |
2-4t butter, softened |
1/4 cup mayonnaise |
2t dried dill weed |
dash of hot sauce |
2t dijon or brown mustard |
1/4 cup chopped green olives |
1 clove garlic, minced fine |
1lb boneless ham steaks, cubed in 1/2 inch cubes |
6oz sliced muenster cheese |
2 medium tomatoes, sliced |
1/2 can pineapple tidbits, drained well |
1 large red onion, sliced thin |
1/2 cup shredded cheese(i used pepperjack and cojack) |
Directions:
1. In medium bowl, combine cream cheese, butter, mayo, dill, hot sauce, mustard, green olives and garlic. 2. Spread evenly over cut sides of all pieces of bread. 3. Top with slices of cheese. 4. Add ham and pineapple pieces, then onion slices and tomato slices. 5. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. 6. Bake at 400 for about 12-15 min until edges of bread are crusty and golden brown and cheese is melted. |
