A simple way to cook a wonderful roast. Ingredients:
prime rib roast (at least 4 ribs) |
salt and pepper |
2 garlic cloves, halved |
1 teaspoon hot horseradish |
1 cup sour cream |
1 teaspoon red wine vinegar |
1 pinch salt |
1 pinch sugar |
tabasco sauce (optional) |
Directions:
1. On the roast, rub the garlic, then the salt and pepper and place it, fat side up, in an uncovered pan. 2. Sear in a very hot oven (450-475 degrees) for 30 minutes, reduce heat to 300 degrees, and cook as follows: Rare- 18-20 minutes per pound, Medium- 25 minutes per pound, Well done- 30 minutes per pound. 3. May be served with Horseradish sauce. |
