This was something very new to me when I met my husband's family. Pretzel Salad is now a holiday tradition that was created by Grandma Delores Johnson. Ingredients:
12 cups crushed pretzels |
3/4 cup melted butter |
1 cup cool whip |
6 ounces strawberry jell-o gelatin dessert |
2 teaspoons sugar |
8 ounces cream cheese |
1 cup sugar |
2 cups boiling water |
20 ounces frozen strawberries |
Directions:
1. Mix pretzels, 2 teaspoons sugar, and butter. Pat into 9 x 13 glass dish. Bake 8 minutes at 375 degrees. 2. Blend cream cheese, cool whip and 1 cup sugar. Spread on cooled crust. 3. Dissolve jello in boiling water, add frozen berries. Cool and put on top of 2nd layer. Refrigerate. |
