This quick and easy breadstick recipe ends up tasting a lot like pretzels! My kids love the warm dense bread dough and so do I! Goes very well with soup or spaghetti. Ingredients:
1 (1/4 ounce) packet yeast |
1 1/2 cups lukewarm water |
4 tablespoons honey |
5 -5 1/2 cups all-purpose flour |
parmesan cheese |
2 tablespoons melted butter or 2 tablespoons olive oil |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. 2. Whisk yeast into water and combine in a large mixing bowl with flour and honey. Kneed at least 10 minutes. The amount of flour you use will vary - make sure your dough is just not sticking to the bowl and remains pliable. 3. Cut dough into 32 pieces. Make ropes of your dough about 5 long and brush them with melted butter or olive oil. 4. Sprinkle on parmesan cheese and allow to raise approximately 15 - 20 minutes. 5. Bake 15 - 20 minutes or until golden brown. |
