Ingredients:
1/2 cup shortening |
3/4 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 1/2 cups sifted cake flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2/3 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
praline glaze |
Directions:
1. Cream shortening and sugar; add egg, beating well. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk, beginning and ending with flour mixture. Stir in vanilla. 2. Pour batter into a heavily greased 8-inch round or square cake pan. Bake at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until a wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool slightly. Spread Praline Glaze over cake. Bake at 350° for 5 minutes. |
