This is a delicious apple crisp that a lady makes at my church. She shared the recipe with me and I have made it many times. It always disappears in the teacher's lounge!! Ingredients:
6 large baking apples |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
1 dash salt |
1 cup brown sugar |
1 cup flour |
1/2 cup butter, melted |
cream (optional) |
oatmeal (optional) |
Directions:
1. Place apples in greased 12x7 inches baking dish. Sprinkle with the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. In a seperate bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, and butter (and a little oatmeal, optional). I added a little oatmeal, maybe 1/4 Celsius or less. Sprinkle over apple mixture. Bake 350 for 40-45 minutes or until apples are tender. Serve warm or at room temp, with cream if desired. |
