                    This is pretty close to Marie Calendar's potato cheese soup. It's decadent, creamy, and delicious. Ingredients: 
                    
                        
                                                8 cups peeled and cubed potatoes  |  
                                                2 cups chopped onion  |  
                                                4 cups chopped celery  |  
                                                2 teaspoons salt  |  
                                                4 cups water  |  
                                                2 cups half and half  |  
                                                6 tablespoons margarine (or butter)  |  
                                                6 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese  |  
                                                2 tablespoons garlic salt  |  
                                                
                     
                    Directions: 
                    
                        
                            
                                1. Place potatoes, onions, celery, and salt in the 4 cups of water in a large pot. Simmer about 15 minutes until vegetables are 2. tender. 3. Put in blender and puree until chunky. 4. Return soup to pot and add half-and-half, butter, garlic salt and cheese. Simmer until hot.
