A great dish for a party or pot-luck...never have I had left overs...everyone loves this salad! Even people who don't normally eat broccoli! For large crowds, just double or triple the recipe. Ingredients:
4 cups broccoli, chopped (use flowerets only, no stems) |
1 cup sunflower seeds |
1 cup raisins |
1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped |
5-6 slices bacon, cooked crisp & crumbled |
1 cup mayonnaise |
1/3 cups sugar |
2 tbsp vinegar (i use white) |
1/3 cup milk |
Directions:
1. Rinse & drain broccoli 2. In a large bowl combine broccoli, sunflower seeds, raisins, red onion, and bacon bits 3. In a small bowl combine mayonnaise, sugar, vinegar, and milk; whisk together until thoroughly mixed and sugar is dissolved. 4. I prefer to add the chilled dressing and toss just before serving the salad but you can add it up to 1 to 2 hours before serving; either way it will be great! 5. Eat and enjoy! |
