Good warm, good from the fridge; good as an after-dinner dessert with ice cream, good as a mid-day munchie with coffee, tea, or cocoa. GREAT with a tall cool glass of milk! Very rich - one good-sized slice is just about all most people can handle. Ingredients:
2 cups flour |
4 eggs |
12 ounces chocolate chips |
8 ounces cream cheese |
1 1/2 cups sugar |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 cup butter (approximately one stick) or 1/2 cup margarine (approximately one stick) |
Directions:
1. Let butter/margarine and cream cheese come to room temperature. 2. Mix thoroughly in good-sized bowl. 3. Add sugar and mix thoroughly. 4. Add eggs and mix. 5. Add flour and baking powder at the same time, and mix. 6. Add chocolate chips and mix. 7. Grease 2 standard-sized loaf pans. 8. Add batter into the 2 pans. 9. Bake at 350° for 45 to 60 minutes (cooking time will vary from oven to oven). 10. Test with a toothpick poked in the center- if it comes out without batter clinging to it, it's done. 11. Enjoy! |
