If you're having friends over to watch the super bowl, serve this spiffed-up version of classic pigs in a blanket. These little bites are total crowd-pleasers-and they take just a few minutes to put together. This came from Ladies' Home Journal. I have not tried this, just posting for future use. Ingredients:
1 lb sweet italian sausage link, cut into 36 half-inch slices |
1 beaten egg |
frozen puff pastry, thawed |
6 tablespoons dijon mustard |
2 tablespoons mayonnaise |
1/4 cup apricot jam |
Directions:
1. Brush a sheet puff pastry with the beaten egg. Cut 36 circles cut from puff pastry with a 1 1/4-inch fluted cutter. 2. Top each sausage round with a pastry circle and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Skewer each stack with a tootpick and place on a baking sheet. Bake in a 400 oven until pastry is golden, 18-20 minutes. 3. Serve with Apricot Mustard Dip. 4. Mix ingredients together for Apricot Mustard Dip. |
