PORTUGUESE GREEN BEANS IN THE CROCK POT This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Tuttle Estate in Wylie, Texas in 1998. Ingredients:
1/4 pound salt pork |
2 pounds fresh green beans |
2 medium tomatoes |
2 cups beef stock |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Dice salt pork and spread over bottom of crock pot. 2. Wash beans then break each bean into 3 pieces and place in pot over salt pork. 3. Peel seed and cube tomatoes then spoon over beans. 4. Add stock with salt, sugar and pepper. 5. Cover and cook on high 4 hours then drain and serve hot. |
