Porterhouse Steaks With Jack Daniels Pan Sauce |

This sauce is great with any steak, and we even use it on chicken! Ingredients:
2 porterhouse steaks (1 to 1 1/4 pounds each), cut 1 to 1 1/4 inches thick |
salt and pepper |
1 tablespoon evoo or canola oil, or your fave |
2 tablespoons butter or margarine |
2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce |
1/4 cup jack daniels |
about 1 t or so chopped garlic (i never measure) optionsl |
Directions:
1. Dry steaks; 2. sprinkle with salt and pepper. 3. Heat 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium heat for ten minutes. Coat with oil. 4. Place steaks in pan; cook, until seared and brown on one side, about 5 minutes. 5. Turn and cook 5 minutes on the other side for medium-rare; 6 minutes for medium. 6. Remove from skillet. 7. Melt butter in skillet; stir in Worcestershire sauce and whiskey. 8. Add garlic if using 9. Bring to a boil; cook 1 to 2 minutes. 10. Slice steaks, if desired. 11. Pour sauce over steaks and serve. 12. Makes 4 to 5 servings. |
