From the Music, Menus and Magnolias Cookbook, this is a recipe from Herbert Blomstedt, Music Director of the San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Ingredients:
1 cup stoneground whole wheat flour |
1 quart water |
1 pinch salt |
10 large dates, chopped |
3 tablespoons almonds, cut |
Directions:
1. Add salt to water and boil. 2. Lower heat and add flour, stir with a whisk until desired thickness. 3. Add dates and almonds. 4. Cook 20 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally. 5. Serve warm. |
