juice from 1/2 lemon |
8 pieces thick cut bacon, chopped, fried crisp and drained |
1 package wonton wrappers(i used round) |
fresh ground black pepper |

pomegranate chili dipping sauce |
pomegranate chili dipping sauce |
1/4-1/3 cup pomegranate fruit spread(raspberry or blackberry can be subbed)--more if you want a sweeter sauce, less if you want a spicier one |
1 small can diced green chilies, undrained |
1t cayenne |
2t dried minced onion |
1t fresh lemon juice |
dash of dry mustard and cumin |
Directions:
1. Fold all ingredients other than wonton wrappers and oil together in medium glass bowl. 2. Drop about 1T of filling into the center of each wonton wrapper. See Photo 3. Fold over to create a semi circle(if using round) and crimp edges with a fork. See Photo 4. If wontons start to dry out as you are preparing them, just lightly brush water over the surface of the wrapper. This will make it more flexible and easier to work with. 5. Fry in 360-370 oil for about 2 minutes, each side until lightly browned, but before the filling starts oozing out. :) 6. For Pomegranate Chili Dipping Sauce 7. Combine all ingredients and let sit while preparing the wontons! |
