Non-traditional tacos with an Asian flair. Ingredients:
1 1/2 lbs pork tenderloin, cut into 1 inch cubes |
1/3 cup hoisin sauce |
6 flat bread or 6 flour tortillas |
1 teaspoon prepared wasabi paste (more to taste) |
2 tablespoons water |
2 tablespoons vegetable oil |
1/2 teaspoon white wine vinegar or 1/2 teaspoon rice wine vinegar |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1/4 head napa cabbage, shredded |
2 carrots, shredded |
1/2 english cucumber, sliced thin |
Directions:
1. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes. 2. Thread pork on skewers and brush with hoisin sauce. 3. Grill pork, over medium heat, for about 12 to 14 minutes, until no longer pink (160 degrees F), turning once. 4. Grill flatbread for 1 minute. 5. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine wasabi paste, water,oil, vinegar, and sugar; whisk to combine. 6. Layer pork and vegetables on flatbread and drizzle with wasabi mixture. |
