This is a dry pork rub me and a friend worked up to use when smoking our pork butts. I think you will find it gives the meat a nice crusty appearance and home town taste. Ingredients:
1/2 cup ground black pepper |
1/2 cup seasoning salt |
1 1/4 cups raw sugar |
1/4 cup brown sugar |
1/8 cup savory |
1/8 cup thai basil |
1 tablespoon salt |
1 tablespoon dry mustard |
3/4 tablespoon chili powder |
Directions:
1. Mix all dry ingredients. Rub on the outside of pork butt before smoking. 2. Multiply this recipe by four if you are smoking a half of hog. |
