This is a Asain influenced savory pork recipe that took first place at the American Royal Barbecue Contest in 1980.Its creator was Rich Davis started KC Masterpiece Barbecue Sauce. Ingredients:
1 cup soy sauce |
1/3 cup toasted sesame oil |
2 large garlic cloves, minced |
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger |
12 lbs pork tenderloin |
1 cup kc masterpiece original barbecue sauce |
Directions:
1. Combine 1/4 cup soy sauce,1/4 cup sesame oil,1 minced garlic clove and ginger to make the marinate. Set aside, 1/4 cup of the marinate for basting.Place the tenderloin and 1/4 of the marinate in a resealable plastic bag. 2. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours,the longer the better.Light the grill.Remove the tenderloin from the bag and discard the marinate. Grill the tenderloin,covered over medium heat,turning occasionally to prevent from burning. 3. Grill for about15 to 20 minuted or cooked through.Baste with remaining reserved marinate durning the last 5 minutes of grilling. Combine BBQ Sauce,remaining soy sauce,sesame oil, and garlic in a small sauce pan and heat using medium heat on stove. Briing to a boil, about 4 minutes. 4. Remove from heat and set aside. Remove tenderloin from the grill and let cool for 5-10 minutes. Slice diagonally and drizzle with warm Barbecue Sauce mixture. Serve immediately. |
