I love chinese food and wanted to find a way to make dumplings at home.
Ingredients:
1 beaten egg
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
3/4 cup chopped water chestnuts
1 tablespoon soy sauce
2 teaspoons fresh gingerroot
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/4 minced garlic
1/2 pound ground pork
1 package wonton skins
Directions:
1. Combine egg, onion, water chestnuts, soy sauce, gingerroot, sugar, salt, and pepper.
2. Add ground pork and chopped shrimp; mix well.
3. Using the wonton skins, make half moon dumplings keeping the bottom flat.
4. In a large saucepan bring 8 cups water to boiling.
5. Drop the wontons, one at a time, into boiling water. Simmer, uncovered, about 5 minutes.
6. Remove from heat and rinse with cold water; drain well.
