I love chinese food and wanted to find a way to make dumplings at home. Ingredients:
1 beaten egg |
1/4 cup finely chopped onion |
3/4 cup chopped water chestnuts |
1 tablespoon soy sauce |
2 teaspoons fresh gingerroot |
1/2 teaspoon sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 minced garlic |
1/2 pound ground pork |
1 package wonton skins |
Directions:
1. Combine egg, onion, water chestnuts, soy sauce, gingerroot, sugar, salt, and pepper. 2. Add ground pork and chopped shrimp; mix well. 3. Using the wonton skins, make half moon dumplings keeping the bottom flat. 4. In a large saucepan bring 8 cups water to boiling. 5. Drop the wontons, one at a time, into boiling water. Simmer, uncovered, about 5 minutes. 6. Remove from heat and rinse with cold water; drain well. |
