This is one of our favorite pork chop recipes. We love the rich gravy over the pork chops and mashed potatoes. Ingredients:
6 -8 boneless pork chops (1 inch thick) |
1/2 cup all-purpose flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons paprika |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine |
1 medium onion, chopped |
1/2 cup chopped green pepper |
1 (4 ounce) can mushrooms, drained |
2 cups milk |
2 tablespoons lemon juice |
Directions:
1. In large plastic bag, combine the flour, paprika, salt and pepper. 2. Add pork chops, one at a time; tossing to coat. 3. Set remaining flour mixture aside. 4. In skillet, saute chops in butter until golden brown; transfer to a greased 13x9x2-in baking dish. 5. In same skillet, saute the onion, mushrooms and green pepper until translucent and tender. 6. Stir in reserved flour mixture; gradually add milk until well blended. 7. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened. 8. Remove from heat and stir in lemon juice. 9. Pour sauce over chops, cover and bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes or until the meat is no longer pink. 10. Serve with Mashed Potatoes. |
