Pork chops baked with rice and apples Ingredients:
2 pork chops, boneless |
1 tbsp. canola oil |
2 tbsp. dried onion flakes |
1/3 c. uncooked long-grain rice |
1 tsp. chicken bouillon granules |
1 c. water, hot |
1/2 c. chopped apple |
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon |
1/4 tsp. sugar |
1 med. apple |
Directions:
1. Brown chops in hot oil, remove and drain on paper towels. Rehydrate onion flakes in a small amount of water. Add rice to drippings in skillet. Saute until rice is golden brown, stirring constantly. 2. Place bouillon cube in the hot water to dissolve. Add to mixture in pan along with onion and bring to a boil. Stir in chopped apple. Pour into 10x6x2-inch glass baking dish. Arrange chops on top. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes. 3. Combine cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle sugar mixture on apple slices; arrange around chops. Bake uncovered an additional 20 minutes or until rice and apples are tender. |
