This is a great simple recipe. The applesauce and sage combine to add a subtle tasty coating for the pork. I have used dried sage with this also without a problem. Ingredients:
1 cup applesauce |
2 teaspoons fresh sage, finely chopped |
pepper |
8 pork schnitzels, uncrumbed |
2 cups dry breadcrumbs |
oil, to shallow fry |
Directions:
1. Combine applesauce, sage and pepper. 2. Coat schnitzel with applesauce mixture. 3. Cover both sides with breadcrumbs. Regrigerate for 30 minutes (optional). 4. Shallow fry in hot oil for approximately 2 or 3 minutes each side until golden. |
