Best ever the glaze makes the difference must try! Ingredients:
3 cups flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons salt |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
2 1/2 cups sugar |
1 1/2 cups milk |
1 1/8 cups salad oil (can use crisco oil) |
1 1/2 tablespoons poppy seeds |
3 eggs |
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla |
1 1/2 teaspoons almond extract |
3/4 cup white sugar |
1/4 cup prepared orange juice |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon almond extract |
2 teaspoons melted oleo |
Directions:
1. Mix above all together and beat 2 minutes. 2. Pour into greased and floured pans (2 pans 2x3 1/2 x 2 1/4) Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 10 minutes. 3. Remove from oven and add glaze. 4. Glaze Heat till sugar is dissolved. Pour over hot bread while still in pans; cool, remove and wrap in foil. 5. Freeze or refrigerate. |
