Very old recipe for unusal macaroon Ingredients:
1 c blanched almonds |
1 ts rose flavoring ( or vanilla or almond ) |
3 egg whites |
1/2 ts vanilla |
1/2 c sugar |
1 c freshly popped corn, reove unpopped kernals |
few grains salt |
1/8 ts baking powder |
Directions:
1. Put almonds and popped corn through food chopper twice, using fine knife blade to chop all very fine 2. Add flavorings. 3. Mix thoroughly. 4. Whip egg whites until frothy. 5. Add baking powder and salt. 6. Whip until stiff. 7. Sift in sugar. 8. Whip 1 minute. 9. Fold into almond mixture. 10. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well-oiled baking sheet. 11. Bake in slow oven (325 F) 20-30 minutes. |
