This is a kind of indian bread whish is very popular in south india. Ingredients:
indian whole wheatflour - 2 cups |
salt - to taste |
vegetable oil - for frying |
warm water - 3/4 cup |
Directions:
1. Add salt,1/2 tsp oil and water to the flour and make it as firm dough. 2. Knead till smooth. leave it for half hour. 3. After half hour knead it again. 4. Divide this into small balls and roll it as thick rounds. 5. heat oil in the sausepan.fry the poori one at a time. 6. Hold them under the oil on the first side untill they puff. 7. Turn and fry till light brown,drain. 8. Serve hot with raita or potato curry or with spicy gravy |
