This dish was a regular when my boys were growing up. Comfort food with some Fritos and cheese (Velveeta goes well with this). Or try it on a hot dog, baked potato, etc.... This dish easily adjusts to your tastes. Read more ...add some hot sauce if you like it hot. Ingredients:
2 lb ground beef |
1-2 oz. packet chili seasoning(i used williams no salt added tonite) |
water-fill empty seasoning packet twice. |
3 t chopped onion flakes (optional) |
1 t salt |
4 or 5 cans pork and beans (i take out the pork) |
1/2 to 1 cup ketchup (to taste) |
1 sm can tomato sauce |
Directions:
1. Brown ground beef, drain if you like...I don't usually if it's not too much. 2. Add chili seasoning, water, onion flakes and salt. Boil down til thickened. About 5 mins. 3. Add pork and beans, ketchup and tomato sauce. 4. Simmer 1 hour. |
